Musik von WinAMP auf PS3 streamen

In commemoration of its 10th anniversary, Winamp is introducing a new function that allows users to stream music from their PCs straight to their consoles. Matthew Callaway, product director of Winamp, explains that the new function was the direct result of having a user population that has a lot of gamers.

The new function involves a PC (not necessarily yours), a console, an internet connection and a whole bunch of music.

Users need only keep their PC on and keep their Winamp program running. A console can then log on to a specific website they use to log in to the PC and access the music (and video too!) files which they can stream and play.

The Xbox 360 will suffer a bit though. Because of the lack of a browser, it can only stream from a local PC. The Winamp team also plans to make the service available to cell phones with web browsers.

Callaway was once part of the Sega and Electronic Arts, and with the "anecdotal" discovery that many PC gamers use Winamp, GameDaily.biz says, "Naturally, the place to start building new Winamp functionality was by heading to the consoles."

was´n das fürn schwachsinn? erst hochladen und dann wieder saugen? wer macht sowas? NOOBS machen das! wer is nur so blöd?

bei 25MBIT zu hause am besten noch syncron würd ich das verstehen aber für alle anderen einfach nur der letzte schiss - meine meinung halt...

Ich glaub in dem Moment muss man da etwas anderes drüber nachdenken. Es heisst ja nicht das du deine Musik streamen sollst. Ist natürlich bescheuert wenn der pc direkt neben der ps3 steht (sowei bei mir). Dann kann ich selbstverständlich gleich die musik am PC hören. Man könnte natürlich einen kleinen Radiosender basteln. Wobei ich dann nicht weiss wies rechtlich aussieht. Womit es allerdings praktisch sein könnte ist die PSP. So unterwegs auf die eigene Musik zugreifen können hat schon was. Aber letzten endes fehlt da dann oft das WLan. Naja wie immer halt mehr ein Proof of Concept. In zukunft wird da sicher noch einiges drauf aufbauen.

also so wie ich den artikel verstehe soll man weder was hochladen, noch etwas saugen. ich habe es so verstanden das man den pc anlässt mit winamp offen, und dann über eine webpage zugang zum pc bekommt und dann diese files streamen. also für mich hört sich da nichts wie hochladen bzw saugen an!
